Gun Stocks and why I reccomend them for F4VR
I recently picked the game up again and decided to give it a go using the stock as one of the main turn offs for me was the janky aiming of the guns.

I had previously bought the stock for Onward but since I got bored of that game I decided to try it on other games such as F4. It turns out that it lends itself incredibly well to using a stock and makes the gameplay much more enjoyable.

For those of you that aren't sure what I mean by Gun Stock here is a picture of mine.

The front controller is for movement and it actually makes the teleporting easier due to the fact you are usually aiming where you want to go.

I thought this might be useful to anyone that was on the fence about either a gun stock or F4VR.

Any questions feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer.

I might invest in one myself then, that's a very good price and re-useable in many games.

Here is the place I got mine https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/3Dspecials?ref=l2-shop-header-avatar

Bit more expensive than I remembered but still worth the money.

Cheers for the link.

Does the tracking ever get affected by the barrel running over the top of the controllers, that is obsure the indents from the lighthouses? I notice some designs have them mounted vertically to avoid this.

The left hand should be magnetic base. Not sure if magnets will cause issues though. It would make attaching one more easy. SPecifically with grooves so its placed well.

I can only agree with Mr Zurkon. I built a prototype gunstock (< 10$) and was amazed of just how much immersion it adds. I focused on the ability to be able to easily click off the right controller in order to throw grenades, and then click it back on when rifle is equipped. I am planning the next prototype.

I added some pics in the following reddit thread:

I use pistols. This would be really good for my sniper rifle.

I agree a gun stock adds alot to rifle use. I built one the day before the scope patch came out. I used a crutch i found and other bits from my real life junk hoard. The right controller is non removable, it works but isnt ideal. Left controller hand palm up forearm in the hook. So I can use trackpad movment freely and still have steady aim. V2 with quick connect right controller is in the works.

There is no interference at all. There are magnets that connect the controllers to the actual frame. Each section has 2 lumps printed into it so it slots in perfectly so they cant wiggle about. They are easily removed and there is very little aditional weight.

I hope these pictures shed some light on this https://imgur.com/a/YXE5a

I am using a sniper a hell of a lot and with the scope patch and the stock I have basically become a stone cold killer. Its so useful and really immersive.

I agree. ill most likely use your setup. I can tell they pop out easily too!

it looks 3d printed. I have a printer. I think i saw some mods online. Ill check them out and most likely use sigru with earth magnets.

just some outward thinking based on my holding style. Why not shorten the rifle barrel and remove the left controller attachement all together? make it a stocked pistol. It dbls as both a pistol and with very very little adjustment a stocked rifle. The stock remains and is light. so holding the right controller as a pistol is no big deal. the left hand can be used to stabilize via holding your thumb up agains the now shortened forearm. pretty much giving the same feel while allowing for grenade throws to be less cumbersome from the right and the left is still free to use the pip boy in between for those who like the wrist position. i dont have a scematic or pic but im hoping this was clear enough to try out until i can design one myself for use
