Realistic recommended specs
Since the recommended specs for this game are really ridiculous, maybe we all can state what we are running and how this game is running under those specs? Now that a bunch of rendering bugs are patched, what is everyone running and how is it running for you?

- i7 7700k 4.2ghz
- 16GB DDR4
- AMD Sapphire r9 290 (no OC)

I never expected the game to be remotely playable but with that above I can still play the game "okay". From time to time, my FPS drops and can get choppy but still playable.

That old AMD is totally getting me by until my EVGA 1080ti gets here (next week!!!), frickin' bitcoin miners screwing up the gpu market.

1080ti

I get what looks like 90 fps in most areas. Near Corvega Factory there are some issues, still relatively fine now. Diamond city still a bit stuttery. And in some of the other very busy city areas noticeable flutter when I move my weapon.

Shadows: 2048 resolution, 3000 distance. I tried various resolution fixes but it really made the shadows thin and hardly there. In any case I dont think shadow resolution does all that much, at least as I tested it.

SS in the ini is at 1.0
SSin Steam is at 1.2

TAA is on, but modified to be less blurry.

The game can be a complete joy to play and then become a barf-fest in some of those really demanding areas. Safe to say a 1080ti is not a silver bullet for performance.

1080TI steam ss 1.5 ini ss 1.0 taa on but modded , nvidia 3d multiplier at default native 1080p

blurry at a distance but totally clear and immersive close range .

Tried upping all of the above but game made me feel sick , only thing restricting me now is my old sparrow legs.

If you turn off the shadows it runs pretty decent along with optimized texture packs. I bet once people play ark park (when it's released) you'll see how dissapointing this game really is visually though. I say that becasue ark is crazy well optimized now (run all epic on a 7870) even though it's tech a different company using their assets...

I have exactly the recommanded specs (i7 6700k, 16GB RAM and GTX 1080) Works great with SS at 1.1 in ini files without FPS drops. (Only in Cabot house so far)

I have very similar specs:
- 7700k , EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 , 16GB ram, SSD drive, EVGA 850W PSU.

I play FO4VR on my Oculus Rift 3 sensor room-scale setup on about 1.5 SuperSampling.

You didn't mention your headset, but if you're Vive then enable Asynchonous Reprojection, if you're a Rift then disable Reprojection so that Oculu's superior ASW (Asynchronous Space Warp) kicks in. Some with both headsets state because of Oculus's ASW, the experience of FO4VR can "feel smoother" on the Rift since it has better Asynchronous technology.

i7 950
16gb memory
EVGA GTX 1080 FTW edition

game actually runs really smooth and very well.
Only complaint is the shadowing on things when I move around. My weapons especially.

just got the 1080 as an upgrade from a gtx 980, and it play no different IMO.

i7 4770k @3.1ghz
16GB Ram
GTX 980 EVGA SC GAMING ACX 2.0, otherwise stock.
Vive

Main performance tweaks:
SS 2.0 through SteamVR Beta
Custom TAA settings (not off, but cranked way back, with the full screen overlays disabled)
Vivid Fallout All-in-One
Asynconous Reprojection enabled

Overall consistant performance, with good framerate. Before tweaks, game was smooth and playable, but it looks a lot better now.

1080ti SC2 liquid cooled

Running 3.0SS in steam and no multiplier in FO4VR. I run 90fps most of the time, with reprojection up to 20% in problem areas (running 10-25% Mechanist laor). Oddly enough, Corvega didn't even brake 5%.

Only grafics issue is a blur at a distance. I'm only running adjusted TAA, and Vivid Textures for performance mods.

I use the same 1.0 ini but 4.0 in steam on a gtx 1080. It runs smooth, even around corvega. However, I use fxaa instead of taa

i7 7600K @4GHz
16GB RAM
Win 7
GTX970

-playing in seated postion (with advanced VR Settings adjusted y-height to -0.43, perfect for me)
-framerate fine through most of the areas, only in a few locations bad framerate, especially at "the institute"
-large buldings with narrow corridors: no problem
-The only thing I changed ist the y-height and set "taa off" via the ingame console

Probably 98 percent of my playing time I don't miss a better video card. The Institute is stuttery but still playable to me.

The original i5 750 overclocked to 4GHz (ancient lol)
8Gb DD3 XMP RAM
GTX1080
Win 10

No changes to the pref ini file settings (tried and it made no performance improvements at all with my card, which should handle all of that without issue anyway. Lowering texture size made no discernable difference either).

fRenderTargetSizeMultiplier=1.0 in the custom ini file (default)
Steam SS set to 1.5
Only ASync reprojection enabled
TAA off

Mostly very smooth, however turning all reprojection off reveals a small but constant frame drop so reprojection is always active so be it mainly at a low level. Reprojection goes up in some areas, Diamond City for example, but still quite playable ... just not ideal. Tried shooting an inhabitant in Diamond City so every one attacks you and it still handled it fine.

980Ti (overclocked)
16GB DDR3 (@2133)
i7 2600k (watercooled / overclocked @4.2)

steam SS 1.2, Taa off, FXAA on, aysnc on.

Runs pretty smooth. if I go with async off and use one of the other options, the stats look better (reprojection can get way down to like 10%), but it just plays better with async even though reprojection is up near 35-40%. It just feels better with async, and I at least find it to be totally playable. i'm 75 hours in and having a blast.

just for context, a 980Ti benchmarks somewhere between a 1070Ti and a 1080.
