Id love that though.
User choice is key.
Still, nothing wrong with user choice, and it'd be an easy enough thing to implement I'd think.
Just download open VR advanced settings and use the height slider and you can play seated with your motion controllers.
Not really an option. Cockpit setups are not like simply sitting in a chair, there is structure of the cockpit to contend with as well as things mounted to it. Even if one removes all items they're still sitting in a framework that prevents unobstructed arm movements.
Well, that's false, Bethesda already confirmed that gamepad support is being developed: https://uploadvr.com/fallout-4-vr-gamepad/
"but gamepad support is in the works for later down the line" = Bethesda will keep this locked at Vive wands for the foreseable future.
As this release is 2D FO4 with a VR camera gampad support was already there, just disabled along with scopes, hands and all the other bits and pieces. It will be modded to a working state long before Bethesda address the issues.
I don't think so, unless you think about "foreseable future" as one month or so then you're wrong, take the example of Doom VFR, they added the stick support for the Oculus after some days, the difference here is the game has so many problems that controller options are down the line, before they need to correct all the flaws the game has right now.
It does not defeat the entire purpose. there is so much more to VR than just tracked controllers. They certainly can enhance the experience but not using them does not negate the entire experience. I have been playing Skyrim VR mainly on a gamepad and still love it.
Exactly 100% the issue - with my cockpit setup I have a single camera above my center display of three. It can see my head just fine so tracking for racing and flight is great but if I want to use the controllers there are huge deadzone due to my dash/wheel/HOTAS getting in the way. I would NEVER remove these for 1 VR game as 95% of my gaming is racing/flight sims.
Here's a picture of my setup that will help those understand

Seems I'll be refunding for now - no desire to wait for Bethesda to follow through, if/when they do I'll purchase then.
