As a slightly older gamer who always grew up with 2D screens, I agree its difficult to see how VR could be so awesome. My first opinions are that its wierd, clunky, and some other critiques. With that said, I feel its too early to put the verdict on its long term success. Many very wealthy companies have put lots of venture capital into the VR technology, and are betting heavily that it is the future of how we interact with technology.
