Handling is bad. Terrible. Brakes don't work even with the full stat upgrades. The handbrake is either an understeer button or a tap-to-drift, depending on if you're off throttle or on. Cornering is fine until you steer too much, then it takes ages to return to neutral steering, so you careen into walls or traffic. Cars are way too light - bumps send you airborne often and you can be pushed around as easily as the traffic/opponent cars can be. Performance upgrades are linear and have no difference between each other in the same category, other than price and looks. The SOLE exceptions to this are removable body parts, like bumpers and bonnets.
Haven't touched F3 in a long time, but the crash effects, sound or visual, are unremarkable either way. It's not even worthy for the crashes.

The problem Team 6 has/had is that they stuck with an outdated engine for too long. back in 2005 the quality of the engine was pretty good. But Flatout 3 was too "ambitious" the engine held them back in every way with that game, and sadly that was their most notable game yet. Meaning everyone saw Team 6 as a lazy developer that just wanted to make a cash grab game.
Anyways after having seen some driving gameplay I am pretty confident that they did update or even got a new engine. Since real time deformation wasn't a thing back then. Though they should definetly re-do the driving physics, they look way too floaty. Tbh the scaling of the world is off aswell, massive 2 lane roads the size of highway roads.
They can show you plenty of gameplay of the last period!
I saw some from SLAP the other day when i was searching for it.
Anyways I do wish the best for you guys. I just hope you guys can implement the feedback some topics on this forum request (like braking working better).
Also I really suggest dropping the price to 20 euros (even if it's just for like a week for a sale). Your reputation after the Flatout 3 incident doesn't really help build confidence for people.
Though i assume the 40 euro price is because of the all the brands you have in this game.
If you can't drop the price due to that, It would really help to show some driving gameplay on the store page. Anyways I hope the best for you guys and wish you plenty of success with this game and future developments.
It's not "some". They are shovelware developer with a long list of terrible games. All of them were shovelware. Every single game, Flatout 3 was one of their 'better' games (for the lack of better word, it's still one of the worst games ever created).
And it's not the engine... Definitely not the engine, since it's not even their first UE4 game. And previous one was one of the worst racing games ever too.
I'm here because of split screen feature. What a crushing disappointment though.
The best game they made in my childhood was Amsterdam Taxi Madness. Which was a collaboration with Davilex (whose games got me into the racing genre) the game did have glitches. But a lot of them were fun. Like somehow breaking the spring powerup so i could launch myself into the sky.
If i can find the games back I'll play them again. Maybe i just have a case of nostalgia or maybe it's just a bit of dutch pride that makes me so forgiving. I'm honestly just glad to see them improving. Maybe they are finally going to move up in the world and make better games. I just remain hopeful. It won't cost me anything.
You don't need an in-house engine to make a good game. Hell, with how badly these games sell Team6 can pretty much use Unreal or Unity for free. They don't make good games because they don't want to.
Team6 specializes in shovelware, that means making low-investment games and selling them in bulk. Even if they sell only 1000 copies per game they've still made a profit.
In this case they probably don't need to sell any copies at all, since Super Street magazine most likely paid them already.
They've made pretty much every bad Flatout game except Flatout 4. That includes Flatout 3, Flatout (Wii) and Flatout Stuntman (Android).
They also made a really terrible motorcycle game after Flatout 3, don't remember what it's called.
(it's not Ride to Hell Retribution, but it's just as bad if not worse)
EDIT: They release 3 - 4 games a year.
