You are correct! A hint - the date follows the formatting at the top right of one of the documents found. Also make sure to click on the dial after entering in the code. Also make sure you've found all the other clues in the room :)

I think the code only works once you've also clicked on the radio and the note that's sat on the desk - the code should work after that? (2902 is the code) I might change this in the first update! The rational was making sure everyone read the necessary info before putting the code in (in the case of people using walkthroughs etc) but in reality it might not be such a great approach - apologies!
I'm going to change it so the note that says about the batteries is actually stuck to the door of the safe, so the player will read it the first time they click on the safe
