Level reset

During a battle, Lucia died. When she was resurrected, her level went from 6 back to 1. I quit the game and tried going back to an earlier save, but she was stuck at level 1 still. Is that supposed to happen? Will it happen every time a character dies?

Did her class change by chance? Each class has their own levels. It isn't something that is supposed to happen unless the class is changed, so lemme know if it persists.
