Thanks. I should've said that I have played Shadow Tactics, however perhaps it might be better to wait until I have played the main game.
Although I recognise that the the word may mean different things to each of us.
But to put it in more concrete Shadow Tactics terms: DLC mission 1 is to main game mission 15 what Mount Tsuru Prison (ST mission 10) is to Mount Tsuru (ST mission 4).
To the OP's question: I bought both main and DLC on pre-order, based on my Shadow Tactics experience, and I have no regrets.

Did you prefer ST or Desperados III? Which did you get more play/time out of?
I think I have 150 hours on D3, and 100 hours on ST. This included initial play through on Normal, a revised play through on Hard. And another play through on Badges for both games. I think D3 has more content because of the Baron Challenges.
