Stars is the trash of musou games, play orochi 3 and 4 instead those are the best mission based games.
Why would I play the worst game in the entire series, known for being a massive BORING World?
There's not one review critic, that gave the pile of crap over a 5/10, and from the looks of it, it deserves a much less score than that.
DW9 is awesome. Far better than this half-arsed excuse for a musou game.
And Yuanji has been near top-tier since she debuted in DW7. But if you don't know how to play as her then of course you'll run into trouble. See, what makes the difference in this game is that Yuanji's attacks can flinch enemies from the start. In DW7 and 8 her throwing knives wouldn't flinch enemies by default with her normal attacks... which meant they would keep coming towards you and attacking while you were hitting them. She still triggered the most individual hits of any moveset in either game, so she could charge up her musou bar ridiculously quickly (and her throwing knives were a very good second weapon choice for any other character), but she generally needed a few weapon upgrades to empower her normal attacks enough to flinch enemies (and increase her attack speed to even more absurd levels).
In fact the only thing that stopped her being the best thing ever in DW7 and DW8 were that somehow there were even more godly OP movesets out there... and funnily enough, they were almost all with Jin. Sima Shi's Lightning Sword was so OP it was beyond ridiculous.
It just so happens that there aren't weapon upgrades in this game, so Yuanji can flinch enemies right from the start.
Here. I don't think I gave it a 10, but it scored plenty high for me for one simple reason: It was awesome. It was the breath of fresh air the DW series needed, but a bunch of pathetic whiners who can't stand anything being changed review-bombed it simply because it was different...
Try forming your own opinion rather than just jumping on the bandwagon of hating a game you can't even be bothered to play.
Here she's probably at her strongest for two reasons.
One.
Her support skill is a Heal-Over-Time that gets upgraded into a wide AoE disable that NO ONE is immune to.
Two.
Alliance Strikes set everyone's attack speed to the same as the person in the middle of the chain, so you can slot Yuanji as the last member and pair her with Lu Bu and laugh as everyone that isn't her gets free attack speed steroids.
