"So it's kind of stupid" is basically the summary of every system incorporated in the game.
It has some great ideas consistently marred by bad execution or pairing with similarly bad ideas.
Friendship gifts are just one example of that. A great way to encourage use of different characters and team compositions to grind out relation score and activating bonus skills, but then it was ruined by having them not permanently activate as passive bonuses, but having them only become active through 100% randomly generated weapon cards.
