Game softlocks in "Fibbage: Enough About You"

I've had this game for a year and a day (I got it as a gift last Christmas). My family and I occasionally plug my laptop into our Roku so we can play the game together and have it up on the TV. We've been doing this quite a few times throughout the year, and we've never had any problems with the game until yesterday.

Yesterday we decided to try "Fibbage: Enough About You" for the first time. We played a few times and only got through one game. Every other time, the game softlocked. The softlock seemed to happen at times when we finished inputting our answers, leaving us with just a moving background.

The game's audio stops working when this happens too. Normally I would just go into services.msc and restart Windows Audio, but that doesn't work here.

We haven't had problems in any other game modes, just that one.

I have a Dell Inspiron 17 running on Windows 10.

What do I do?
