Unable to finish Monster Seeking Monster (Freeze)

We hosted two nights of Jack Box 4, two days in a row, at two different houses. The first night we had 7 players, the second night we had 4.

All the games worked fine, except Survive the Internet which often lags for a few seconds (The sound goes all weird, which we at first thought was a feature, seeing all its themed around an old computer desktop), and Monster Seeking Monster which always ends up being stuck on the 3rd or so round.

When it gets to the phase where dates are revealed, one or two match up are shown are shown currently, but eventually one doesn't work:
- The characters show up facing each other.
- We wait for the conversation to be shown.
- Nothing happens.
- Music is still playing, everything seems fine.. except nothing is happening.

I can't find anything about this online, like we are the only ones suffering from this.. But after about 10 attempts we still haven't been able to get past that point in the game on two different machines and two different internets.

Please Help? It's easily the best game in the lot and we really want to play it :(

Works on my machine. Though StI froze one time, along with Bracketeering. Not cool, especially with 16 players and 10 audience in Bracketeering !

When you say it froze, you mean the game frozen entirely and the music stopped?

Nope, game was working perfectly fine, I could escape and exit back to main menu, but the game itself wouldnt go, it would just go "TIME UP!" and get stuck there. Viewer Chat made sure to point out "High quality game"

Hi, just wanted to report we had this exact same thing happen last night on ps4 twice in a row. 2nd match of 2nd night both times.

Last night after deleting the game and save /profile data, I was actually able to finish a round for the first time (pc).

No idea if the fix is related or if it's just luck and Internet connection issues.

Almost the same thing happened for me and some friends, in this case it was monster seeking monster everytime someone tried to date the audience.
Also experienced the same type stall in Survive the internet and Civic Doodle, game stops, but music and animation continue as if its waiting for something.
- in this case its on JB4 on Nintendo Switch

Sorry to hear that, do you recall anything specific that happneed in the game prior to the hang?

I just want to post an update to my original problem. The issue seem to have resolved itself on our end, as later playtests have been much smoother.

I have exactly the same. It happens every-time and it's only happening in the Monster seeking monster game. All the other ones work fine. I tried many times on different game settings.

I'm pretty sure this is happening when people use emojis, specifically emojis that aren't supported in the game (ie. newer ones). When the game tries to show the emojis, it hangs.

I'd have to test this theory, but I suspect this could be the cause.
