What should I be doing to progress and any tips?

I'm currently at 8.2 T gems and I've largely been playing as angels to get this far. Should I just keep playing as angles and keep getting more gems? Are there any goals I should try to be reaching to progress faster besides just getting gems or a better way to get gems at all? Any tips would be helpful too. Also are rubies only found during excavation beside paying for them?

At that amount of gems you should unlock and use neutral factions.
Rubies come from excavations and events. Best to put them in ruby power, starting with ruby gem bonus.

you should focus on reincarnating if you dont have heritage in every faction
once you reincarnate you should just keep aiming to reincarnate till you unlock the mercenaries
each incarnation you should try to unlock different trophies

im new to game, but can pretty much assure you that MOST links to guides are posted by noobs. Or old timers who are too lazy to research what they link. They are ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL out of date. most are out of date by a lot. So if you go to "guides" make sure you read it all with a grain of salt. (elves arent the best to start anymore, titans arent the best to pair with anymore... you should NEVER have used zero HoL when doing druid, most/all merc builds are out of date etc. )

In other words, even though I'm knew I can confirm (like many old timers do in these forums) the majority of the guides in existence are wrong, and seriously outdated.

You should ALWAYS build HoLs (and all other buildings) when doing druids.. otherwise their trademark spell would be completely worthless..

My opinion is that you should play what you like, and only try other alliances to unlock the heritage upgrades.

Considering the prod differences between factions at different times, youd do well if you actually try find what produces better rather than just stick to the same faction forever..

I've definitely noticed some builds are out of date and elves never work for me other than to have on the start after a reincarnation, but then the elves bloodline works much better with angels for me at the start. After that, I just go with angels until I can buy mercs, which I found a build that's pretty up to date and works well for me. I know there are more factions later on. Are mercs the go-to until I unlock those factions? Also what are some current merc builds that work well? I've been on musicfamily and the holy trinity is the one I've been sticking to but I haven't found any others and I don't really feel like doing trial and error . I'm currently on reincarnation 10

Also I'm a bit confused on the goblin challenge 1. Aren't greed fingers the upgrade you can get from the goblin upgrades and it gives you money every 10 minutes? Because I have let my game run for a few hours and I didn't complete the challenge.

Green fingers rolls between 1 second and 1200 seconds worth of production every 10 minutes. In other words, every 10 minutes, you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting the challenge done. You can't complete this challenge offline.

Sounds pretty well, you unlock some new stuff at R12 and R14, and R16 has a new main feature.

CORRECT. thats what I said.

Some guides, say "keep HoL on zero, since the boost blah blah blah..."

missing the point that the boost needs a numerical value to actually boost.

this is what I've been doing, I'm R16 or so... not playing a ton, but yeah your strategy is what I have read/tested and it seems to work the best for the levels we are at.

Make sure you have "greed drive" trophy. I didn't when I tried. It looked like I had the trophy but then I noticed it wasnt highlighted lol
