Any good R16 research build I can use ? I'm new :'(

I just reached R16 but now I have unlocked Research it's kinda hard for me . I don't understand at all what to do .
1.Do I have to unlock all research before I start playing ?
2.What build Do I have to use to reach R17 ?

At R16 you can't talk about research builds yet because there are not enough researches to really have a choice. The only thing you can do is to think about wich faction you want to use.
But for the begining you first have to unlock all researches up to 136 to be able to get gems from research. And this will need some time. And since this would need a lot of work to tell you the important things I guess the best would be to red a R16 guide for this.

But since this guide is a little bit old I may add something:
There is an artifact called Vanilla Flavor Juice wich you probably will get pretty fast, when you havn't already used way too many excavations. It gives an upgrade wich gives you a big boost to Vanilla Factions within the first 15 mins, so when you have it you better try to start with only doing 15 min runs since after this you loose this giant production boost.
