Can you explain goblin challenge 1?
Having a hard time understanding what the wording of it means.

Green fingers gives coins every 10 minutes. How does that even remotely mean a "discount"? Even more puzzling, a 1000secs worth of production??? How do you even start to calculate what you need to achieve that?

I am guessing since it says "worth of production" then logically we have to keep the production low, possibly not building anything and leaving the game open so it finishes quicker?

I left the game for hours on goblin (offline) and didn't get it. So either there is something i don't understand, or this only works online... yet there is nothing in the description that indicates that you need the game to be left online.

Any explanation or help on how to beat it as quickly as possible would be appreciated.

Well, it's a lot of waiting, a touch of luck, and some bacon (kidding). You also need the spell upgrade for goblins. And for the upgrade to actually build up the prudction.

GFD grants up to 1,200x the production of 1 second every proc. You need it to hit that 1,000x or higher in order to complete the Challenge. The effect is based on the production of when it procs, and the Challenges look at which multipler it used. It does not matter what your production is, so keeping it low isn't beneficial to the Challenge in any way.

GFD works while offline; however, the Challenge will only complete while online. This is actually posted over in the Known and Perceived Bugs thread.

The typical wait for completion is 40 minutes - it can be completed sooner, it can be completed later. Do make sure that not only are you online and waiting for it, but also that you have all other requirements met including having Greed Drive purchased and unlocked.

Thanks for the explanation, let me see if i got it right.

Every 10min, it rolls for a random number between 1 and 1200. I need it to roll between 1000 and 1200, so that's about 1/6 chance to get it on every roll. About 16%.

So it's not a time requirement, just virtually a 6 sided dice roll, you can be very unlucky and not get it for hours or even days. Correct?

Basicly. Should take about a day or two tops.

Got it at 40 minutes! haha

There must be something built in game to increase the chances every time you miss it, or possibly it doesn't roll all the way down from 1. But just happy i can move on from this one.

Ty!

The chance for not getting goblin challenge 1 in a day is (5/6)^144 or (3.9618732e-10)%.. Try 1-2 hours tops.

For reference, it took me between 1 and 1.5 hours of idling to get it.

What is the time limit for a dead thread? I can't find it among the rules.
RogueFireWolf May 5, 2019 @ 2:35pm
If it hasn't had any recent activity, it's a dead thread. This one had no activity for a little more than eight months, which more than qualified it as a 'dead thread'. As a general rule of thumb, it's better to start a new thread than to revive one that's had no recent activity, especially if there's been updates between them, as content may have changed and information presented may no longer be valid.

The necropost was useful for me as this was the first result on Google. This isn't 2001 on some slow phpBB board. Since Google exists, necroposting is almost always better than making a new thread so that said outdated information you're concerned about can be corrected.
RogueFireWolf Apr 24, 2020 @ 4:11pm
You're necroposting a thread almost a year after I asked someone else not to necropost.

I am locking this thread. In the future, please do not necropost any threads.
