Spell tiers
Hey guys! Quick question about unlocking spell tiers. Even the wiki didn't help. I have unlocked and bought tired autocastin, am at R43 and yet it doesn't show the 4th tier of autocasting. Also i can't see any hint about spell tiers aswell. Should it tell you somewhere when you are making progress? Did i miss something?

Edit: After Abdicating i can finally see the progress in the spell tooltips. The tired autocasting still doesn't show though.

You need to have a tier unlocked and bought before tiered autocasting shows up.

Right, that makes sense. Right now all are Tier 1/7. So by tomorrow with all of them being T2 i should be able to use it then? I assume all spells for elven being T3 should be beneficial for the slow grind at e25 gems? Any quick advice spell tiers?

You pretty much got it all correct.

Thanks! That's what i shall do then.

Okay, i'm honest. I looked up the duration for spell tiers as i'm impatient for now. It says for my R it takes 3d 2h to get it to T3. My question is how long will it take after abdicating to get it from T3 to T4. Will it take another 3 days or do i have to wait the whole 6 days? So do you always have to wait out previous tiers aswell when you go for higher tiers?

Thanks in advance.

The times are based on the current reincarnation: you retain the activity time you've already accumulated until you reincarnate.

On the upside, T3 will carry you for quite a few Rs until you need to get new tiers.

Oh. I thought it was cast time this game (not R).
Quick tip, drow has a research that allows call to arms to be cast offline, which counts towards spell tiers.

That is incorrect.

1. S435 applies the production boost of Call to Arms to the coins given from offline time, it doesnt actually cast a spell offline.

2. All spells gain offline spell time based on the formula: t * min(1, m * d / (n * c ^ 1.5)), where t is offline time, m is mana regen per second, d is spell duration in seconds, c is spell mana cost (as tier 1), and n is number of spells set to autocast.

So, basically staying online is the better solution for advancing the tiers?

This brings me to another question. Right now my current game is running for 3 days and 10 min. The active spell times however for the different spells is greatly apart. I didn't do the math, but i'd assume it's due to the formula above when being offline? Like take spiritual surge that has only 1,5d cast time, whereas CTA has 3,5d cast time. I started this R with the intention to lvl up spell tiers so i made sure to always have all spells running. But the formula takes into account mana cost for the spell and the runtime. Surge has a way higher cost for the same runtime that CTA has. I assume closing the game window made that difference, right? Staying online wouldn't have caused it?

Pretty much, yes. Spiritual Surge's high mana cost means it would get much less activity time compared to Call to Arms if mana regen is insufficient

Okay. I think it got it pretty much now. Too bad i would have liked to not run the game when i go for tiers as it's less power consumption. But if i want it to be evenly casted i guess there is no other choice. Even though i have 4k mana reg/s atm which is far more than i would need to cast everything constantly it would still not work offline, right? I'm just asking to make sure i fully understand the spell tier mechanics. The formula should only apply when you don't have high enough mana reg.

If you've maximised mana regen and spell duration and minimised spell cost in your current build and can't reach what you'd need to give full activity from offline time, then you'll get faster tiering from staying online, yes.

If you have enough mana regen and aren't spreading yourself too thin, you can get 100% activity time from offline, and you won't get 100% online since there's a slight pause for autocasting refresh. You can test it out by, say, logging out for 5 minutes then checking your active time this game. But it's not always easy to get enough mana to get 100% active time, much less on all your spells at once.

I did do some of my spell tiers offline. It's possible. But if you're seeing different active time amounts it's almost always because you don't have enough mana regen or spell duration to support that many spells simultaneously.

If you've already got spiritual surge boosted, you can turn it off. Turn off tax collection. Or turn off the spells that are running ahead of the others if you're going offline.

But mostly you'll find that the long-term tasks in this game require you to be online.
