Soooo...does this game get any better? (Edit: It does)
*Edit* I'm hooked, and I dropped a copule bucks on it. I'm impressed. Normally a game that speeds so quickly in the beginning usually burns out incredibly quickly, but this game, it's really well thought out.

Coming from someone who loves a good idle game. Right now here's the game to me.
1. Don't suck at clicking, so pick elves.
2. Make lots of money.
3. Make lots of gems. Start over.
4. Try another faction. They suck, go back to elves.
5. I unlock all elf structures and it took no time to get to 100 million gems.

Is there seriously anything else to this game? I'm really having trouble trying to figure out why I should keep playing, or if there's anything cool afterwards.

This game has a lot more "phases" compared to other clicker games. The whole idea is to figure out the best build for each phase until you hit a gem wall and have to try a different build.

The basic elf is only good (and as you've already discorvered the best) at the beginning. Other factions only come into play at different gem ranges and reincarnations.

There are a few more advanced factions to unlock, and later on, you gain the ability to mix and match different faction abilities for even more complex custom builds.

I'm not sure what your idea of a good idle game is, but I haven't played any that has as much depth as this one.

I've been around since Cookie Clicker, so I'm an idle veteran. (That's hardly a badge to be proud of.)

Alright, I'll keep playing, see how this goes, unlock the faction goodness. I have yet to see any idle game that comes close to Trimps in terms of long term playability, but I'll keep going to see if it gets better.

Your next game phase is at 1B-1T gems (excavations, neutral factions)

That button with three ??? comes in handy later too when you get a lot/more gems. And becomes a pivotal point in how the game hands you new "phases" the first one you onlock from it shouldn't take you more than a month. (Took me like 3 or more months just to get to the first of the mentioned "phases" that the game hands you, to say the least, I suck at wanting to progress through games.)

When you are a clicker/idle game veteran than you should give this game a try. There are many new game mechanics still comming to you.

Here's how I do it from the start of a Reincarnation-
Elf or Goblin - Elf for the Auto-Clicking or Goblin for faster Faction Coin production with the Goblin Spell. The downside to Goblin is that the mana regen is slow at the start of an early reincanation.
About halfway through -
Titan - The Titan Spell gives a whole lot more Faction Coins. Also use Exacuvations (bulk of 1 or 10) to get the initial 1000(500 Angel/Goblin) coins to use Titan. Downside is slow Mana Regen in early Reincarnation. However later Reincarnation Power will add seconds to Regen.
The end of the reincarnation - Elf. Faction Coin is fast that the required coins can be gotten in a minute or two to unlock Elf Abilities.

Heh, you only started) For the first two reincarnation it's normal flow:
1) Elves (because you will be mostly limited by Faction Coins)
2) If you unlocked 300+ trophies you can then switch to Demons, or just try other Factions
3) Neutral Faction, usually Titans.
4) Premium Vanilla Factions like Dwarf-Fairy
5) Reincarnate

After this you will get new mechanics every other Reincarnation: At R2 - Challenges, at R3 - Mercs, then Research, Bloodlines, Dragons, etc.

Right now, I'm at R7 and I just got my bloodlines. It's really weird for an idle game to have super fast periods instead of starting slow, but then slows down, but then picks back up. It's weird, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Good to hear you're enjoying it. As you say, speed varies quite a bit, and the arrival of bloodlines is definitely a big acceleration, one of the sharpest there is.
