Any tips on how to get the Ancient Device to start Neutral research?

Hitting a brick wall at e102 gems (enough to go to r26), can't even get enough coins to get up to 2000 excavations, and even then it's only an incredibly small chance post 2000 right? Any help would be most appreciated.

Thats the research slots artifact, the artifact for research unlock is 100% unlock at 1500 excavs.

You need to do the unique building quest and then get Secrets of the Ancients.

I doubt your game is somehow bugged that upgrades dont appear properly (considering it doesnt happen to anyone else), so double check your requirements.

@Necrodoom - rather than tell someone you doubt they're right, attempt to collect more information regarding the issue to see if something has been overlooked.

Have you completed the Olympian Hall Quest? Have you completed the Stonehenge Circles Quest? Have you completed the Sunken Cities Quest? If you are playing as Titan, Druid, and Faceless respectively, you should not be seeing those if you have unlocked them. These unlock the Unique Buildings for the Neutral Factions.

Challenge 4s are not needed for it, You need the unique building unlocked. Take a screenshot while playing one of the neutral factions.
