Artifact Grinding

I'm just about finished with R7; at what point should I get serious about artifact hunting? Are there some I should be trying for now? Am I going to run into trouble later if I wait too long to start finding them? Thanks for any tips.

You can work towards them at the same time you are leveling for many of them . Go to the wiki page on the requirements and use that as a starting point when you are building things up from a reincarnation ,

In the lower R's I usually tried to get 1 or 2 of them each R. I just saved many of my excavations and then looked up the requirements, choosed an easier one and just tried to get them.
Bu fort the difficult ones like the Bottled Voice or the Stone of Balance I waited until I was able to spend more excavations.

A good recommendation is that, at the end of each Reincarnation, you go after one or two easy ones. Hunt until you run out of Excavations or it starts taking longer to grind for them. At higher R's, you'll be able to use more Excavations, and so you can start to go after the ones that take longer. However, remember to Export your save before you Excavate, just in case you use up all your Excavations without finding them. That way, you can just import it, do a few more of whatever you need, and try again. Until you're at the Research stage, however, don't spend too long attempting for Artifacts, and just go for easy ones.

ive done this way - at the lower R's ive assumed that ive dont need excavation so ive spented them all on artefacts, later i was trying to save as many as i could (mostly all of them) to grab what i could. It took me a little longer than normal but ive got most artefacts at the time they were avalible
