Do I need to be playing as Fairy to unlock the 'Dragon' stage of unlocking dragons?
I managed to get 3750 assistants then abdicated to Titans to be able to make the 1e70 coins needed, but I couldn't buy it. I'm not getting anywhere near 1e70 coins with fairies, so I'm not sure what to do right now.

You need to wait it out, it is a long, and tiring road to dragons.

Yes, you need to be fairies.

Just get more gems or get a better Fairy build. Just as a hint: a NU build wich focus on HoL shouzld do it.

Because I hit 3750 fairies in an another abdication, do I just need to make the 1e70 coins now, or do I need to hit 3750 fairies in this abdication as well?

You must have 3750 Fairy assistants while buying the upgrade. So yes, you must have them in the same run. Otherwise it would be way too easy.
If you struggle to make a good build you can just look in Goof's Not a Wiki for a good one.
I actually needed 3 tries until I finally had a build wich got me both the coin and the assistant requirement within 5 minutes, whereas for all other stages I always did it with the first try, so this is really the most difficult part. (But sadly I still always had to ait 12 hours for every step)

But when you do an U Dwairy build and see that the HoL's still have over 90% you just know that it can't work.

if you think that part is hell; then just wait for the next step
VampireKitten Oct 7, 2017 @ 5:05pm
The next step is MUCH easier. If you think it isn't, you tried with too few gems or with the wrong faction.

Does the game get better when you get dragons? I've been stuck in R45-46 for quite some time. The Oc-No Gems (about 1e28~31) part is just insanely slow.

Yeah, it is really slow at these R's. Maybe it changes with the next update though.
And yes, after getting dragons ou progress a lot faster. But you probably need T3 spell tiers for Titans to be able to reach Dragons

The only spell that will be useful to have at tier three for the last stage of unlocking dragons is call to arms. All the other spells available to titans cost more to upgrade to tier three than elder dragon does to buy.

Sure, but this still means that you want cta3, and this means there is no reason to not also get all other Titan spells to T3. And after the Dragon unlock they actually become quite useful for further progression. So there is no reason to not get them.

I certainly agree that having gem grinder and lightning strike at tier three becomes very useful once dragon is unlocked. That said, at R46 call to arms will probably be significantly ahead of the other spells because of the time that gets spent in demons, goblins, and fairies. In some cases it may be desirable to delay the move to R47, if the other spells haven't yet reached tier three. Equally, they may have reached that point during R45, where a difference in cast times between call to arms and other spells is less likely to develop.
