Just about ready for A1. Was wondering if there were any particular trophies/artifacts I needed to be sure and get before I ascend. In particular is it worth grinding for the 5000 neutral building trophies?

And probably want to get all researches if you dont

"No Recruiting" and "Stoic Resistance" secret trophies are the only ones you need to worry about acquiring before A1 they are simply too hard to get later. The building tropies are easy to get later on in the game.

I would also recommend trying to get as many artifacts as you can, specially the research ones for an easy start after ascending, but not really required. You can get them later.

No reqruiting you just naturaly get, at around R30 you should be able to do it easily

And nowadays you can still get No Recruiting after ascending, since you need e90 gems to start merc research anyway. Stoic is still a must get before ascending though. Also, don't grind any kind of trophy based on "get X number of Y", because you WILL get them all just by playing naturally, except for the last spell casts trophy(which needs a dedicated run at R90+) and the last mana trophy(which is impossible to get).

There's already an updated build on G00f's Not a Wiki for getting Mana Ocean at R87. Takes about 12 days according to author - but not impossible. Mana Spring needs 100T instead of 2T (so 50 times more) - yes, looks like it would take forever with this build. But who said it will not be faster after A2 with new researches and alliances and other new stuff? No readily available build for it yet? I can bet there will be one at some point! If you don't want to experiment and tinker at it yourself - just wait for Artcrow (or someone else) to cut it out for the rest of us.

1)There will not be new researches, that's why research points got capped to 5000. Research's over, period.
2)Mana Spring is A2 only, and right now, you can't get even Mana Ocean at A2 in a reasonable amount of time, much less Mana Spring. Mercs aren't available at A2, remember? Nor is prestige for that matter.

1. huh... I thought that with new Alignments there will be (later on) new factions - and new research for them too. And because right now highest research available at 3350 points - I thought there will be something added in the gap between that and 5k. And also " Research slots after Ascension 2 will be capped at 1 per branch. Faction Researches will be unlocked after purchasing 1 Research in each branch, and they will not consume slots." (from changelog) I took it that there will be some more just it would work a bit differently from what we have at A1. If I'm wrong - sad. Q.Q

2. Yes, I gathered that it's A2 - my son got all trophies available before new update and he doesn't have this one :P And that's why before actually going to A2 I will make sure that I got all trophies and artifacts that are possible to get before ascending.
But right now I'm only on R77, so it will not be really soon.

Also: devs said that it's impossible to lock yourself out of getting trophies permanently - meaning that it SHOUILD be possible to get those new ones - just later I guess. I still have hope!

The ones you can get locked out of currently, you will be able to eventually unlock again with future updates. Permanently means even in the future.
