All 3 :D
-Fairies: active playstyle with lots of assistants and boosting the 3 lowest buildings/massive amounts of production mostly from spell upgrade/use when elves slow down
-Elves: active playstyle with focus on clicks/you stop clicking once you get spell upgrade and it has massive production/best faction in the early game, so use it
-Angel: active playstyle with focus on spells and mana regen/too much upgrades wasted on mana regen result in lowest production of good, even with all spells active/don't use it, just don't
-Demons: idle playstyle with focus on the highest buildings and trophies/has good production due to focus on hell portals and that's about it/elves are better, just use them instead
-Goblins: idle playstyle with focus on faction coins and gems/you get free TC casts and that's about it/it sucks, don't use it
-Undead: idle playstyle with focus on very long runs and offline production/HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA/worst faction in the game that is never worth using, not even when offline
Thank you ^.^
for example, fairies basically rely on casting fairy chanting for production (gold coins), and you'd want to stack it with as many other spells as possible (yes, spells stack multiplicatively). you'd basically want the mana to fill up, then cast all the duration spells you can, and autocast as many tax collections (TCs) as you can while all the spells are running.
this only happens when the game is running - autocast doesn't give you spell production while game is offline. when you get autocasting, the game will cast the spells when possible / the prereqs are met, so spell-based builds generally require you to leave the game running (whether in the foreground or minimised).
when you get the faction spell upgrade for elves, it will also autoclick 15x per sec while moon blessing is running. this makes elves very good for doing "clicks required" unlocks (unless you prefer to just use an autoclicker).
evil factions tend to be less spell-reliant and have some upgrades to boost offline production (especially undead). but they're still improved with spells running, and usually you need to do a few full-rotations of spells to max out buildings/upgrades before going offline (this is referred to as the "setup").
as you play through the reincarnations (Rs) you'll learn more about the factions and get used to what they're good for, in a more organic way.
as for gems... counter-intuitively, this game does not use gems as currency. they're more like a meter to measure your progression within the current R. and of course, they do boost your gold production - essentially they act as a multiplier for your current build. so usually, being able to double your gems means it's a decent time to abdicate - repeating the build would become twice as efficient. however, if your build is still generating lots of gems steadily, you could let the build run for a bit more until it hits a wall. that's what i do cos i'm lazy and don't really enjoy setting up the build again :P
I'm not sure how far into the game you are, so I can't say for sure how relevant this information is for you. The farther you progress the more things start to rapidly change. Undead are easily the most powerful faction for very VERY long runs. Those runs aren't typically worth it until the "end game".
I suggest looking at the wiki and unlocking as many secret trophies as you can. Most of them are VERY useful and even required at later points of the game.
On the surface this game is pretty simple but later on you get choices that makes this one of, if not the most in depth idle game out there.
Just a few things you can expect the more you progress
-New factions
-Challenges
-Sitting around with 15k mana regen per second thinking to yourself "This isn't enough."
-A whole new way to progress outside of which faction you actually choose.
Let me go over each faction now that I've got a LOT of time in the game. On kong, not on steam. I don't play idle games on steam because there's no way to prevent them from showing on your friends list and thats annoying.
Fairies are really powerful pretty much all the way through the game. Same with elves if you have an auto clicker.
Angles are powerful in certain regards but as that guy said their focus on mana leaves them weaker throughout almost the entire game aside from some spots here and there where they get really powerful before being left behind again.
Demons will be your best friend early on if you rush trophy unlocks and their spell upgrade. Goblins are great for faction coins. Faction coins will have a MUCH bigger use later. Early on they're mediocre but they're a good way to get your spells cast stat higher to unlock some more trophies and upgrades.
Undead. Early on I used them right before I would go to bed. You have to give them a LOT of time before they get useful and runs don't last long enough early on for that to happen. Later though you can consider it.
As for when to abdicate. Eventually I started waiting till I had around 1000x the gems I currently had. A lot of people suggest 10 but when you're gaining gems so rapidly it doesn't make sense to not wait an extra 5 minutes.
it's just one secret trophy, with a semi-decent upgrade, but part of the game is to try and unlock everything :)
-Undead are NOT the most powerful faction for long runs, not at all. Not to mention that long runs are worthless compared to couple short runs anyway.
-This game IS simple. Play good with short runs=you get WAY much more money than playing anything else till Ascension.
-Elves do NOT need an autoclicker. Sun blessing exists for a reason.
-Angels are only worth it at 2 points: end of R39, and end of R26. That's it. At any other point fairies/elves are a far better option.
-Demons are overshadowed by elves by a very long margin, especially after R7. Sorry, but this has just been tested far too many times.
-Undead: no, just no. Don't use offline time for production, use it for getting time on neutral factions for some unlocks you can get later on.
You missed goblins and fairys >.> and thank you for the help ^.^
-Fairies: alongside elves, most powerful faction in the game, though early game elves are better due to Sun Blessing.
-Goblins: they're... not very relevant. You *may* use them at R23 to finish the reincarnation, but that's about it.
Ah okie dokie >.> thanks ^.^
Just thought ide ask one last question. What about the other factions? I just got the titans and it made me wonder about the neutral ones and the ones left after that.
