Figthing the goblin army.

Can somebody explain to me what is going on with this event? Clicking the button to fight the goblin army doesn't seem to do anything, and then it disappears. And why are we both supporting and fighting against this army? Is this all about just completing the quests and feats? How often does the fight button appear and under what conditions?

It's pretty simple. Each run you either can fight against the army or support them. When using the good or bad alignment you immediatly join a side. When using neutral you can choose wich one you want to use by clicking on the corresponding upgrade.
When you joined a side you can level up an upgrade for this side wich will give you a bonus to assistants or mana max and mana reg depending on wich side you choosed. And when reaching special tresholds like 25 you also will unlock some bonus upgrades for this side. Leveling them cost goblin crowns. And the levels wich you bought will stay when abdicating or reincarnating.
