"Let people choose" implies choice. Forcing people to start over isn't choice.

It doesn't really matter to me because I'm not going to be playing against anyone or shooting for a highscore on any leaderboards.

No, I haven't played this particular idle clicker game before, but I've played plenty of games of this category, there can't be that much more of a difference.

Play it on Kongregate, or Armor Games, or an Android device. Give it a try. You'll find that after the first couple "resets", abdications, it becomes drastically different from most clickers. Heck, I wouldn't even call it a clicker anymore after the first "reboot", or reincarnation.

I was waiting for it to be released on steam, I'm already juggling a load of idle games on kongregate, so I might just wait for now, or at least a week.

Getting people to all start off evenly isn't the same as forcing them, they are welcome to remain on the browser version of the game if they are worried that much.

And in regards to my origional post, let people that choose to use this platform start again. Isn't in anyway forceful. For if you choose to start on a new playform why shouldn't you start again?

I will be playing both platforms at my own pace.

And what exactly would be the point of forcing one platform to be disconnected from the rest of the release venues that have save transfer? All that would do is alienate the existing playerbase and cripple platform viability. As the first reply already stated, the game has an option to clear data and start fresh already. There's no need to exclude one platform from the interconnectivity of the rest.

I should have read it more carefully, I seem to have misinterperated what was said, stupid brain.

Your obvious lack of experience on either side of game-development being that of players and developers shows in the lack of thought and inept responses provided.

Being a copy and paste transition the game will most likely have an option to intergrate the new steam player base to that of the existing kongregate community. This is usually done by having the option to import a save file, and also with the save file option they can easily be manipulated due to how basic the game is and the new intergration with steam.

And what's so bad about starting again? I used to play final fantasy 12 of the ps2 and its getting a remarstered edition later this year on ps4 so can i transfer my save? See how logic works.

If they didnt fail in the transition and structure of the steam version then you would not be required to have a kongregate account and instead use your steam account.....Like most games do.

You don't have to link to import saves. The game creates a save seed that can be copied into any edition, linked to Kong or not. For example, here is my save from my phone. Literally anybody can use it (if the Steam wordfilter hadn't eaten a piece, that is):
