manual gear shift drifting

I was very disappointed to see, that there is no way to initiate a drift with a manual gear shift like in daytona or outrun 2.
Since there currently seems to be no benefit of using manual, i would really love if we could get that mechanic in a later update.

I'll second this. A more interesting MT mechanic that allows for faster cornering and a slightly higher top speed would be a huge improvement -- although OutRun 2-style gear drifting is probably more appropriate for this particular game than Daytona's nonsequential gear drifting.

Absolutely. The only reason we like choosing manual in these kinds of games is because of the quick drifts initiated by quick downshift upshifts, like OP said in daytona or OR2
