The rubber-banding in this game is seriously bad

Im trying to get the reverse at the finish line achievement and have set 7 laps. I cant believe Drift cars have the ability to keep up with Speed cars at 180+ Cheeseburgers per freedom eagle flight speed (Yeah the game doesnt even have Metric units) after 4 back to back Boosts.
All this on Normal difficulty. I have already cleared all GP events on all difficulties and it was a headache against the Expert AI.
Fix the game's difficulty. The AI as it is really sucks. I want to be rewarded for my good driving by overlapping opponents yet all of them for some reason, even sometimes crashing, can keep up with me. It really sucks

If you just want the achievement, I suggest you to try 7 laps on 8 Ball Highway.
Or try on higher difficulties.

Or you can just make a local game on versus mode and set the number of racers to 2.

But yeah, I agree this is not the best mechanic on this game.

i love this game but i HATE mario kart style rubber band ai... so i've stopped playing

Yeah this game is really bad for rubberbanding in that way. just saving my boost for the last lap lmao. 10/10 would have refunded if this wasn't a humbleunlock. Probably wont play more than the 35min i've put in it.

How does the rubberbanding here compare to other Sumo racers like Team Sonic Racing (which ironically has the exact same system requirements)?

You can exploit nearly every race by saving your boosts for the final lap and using them on the last stretch/turns. The AI can't handle it and won't rubberband to beat you most of the time. Tested this on multiple difficulties and it worked for me, at least.

Ironically rubber banding is added to *increase* excitement but ends up doing the exact opposite when nothing you do matters until the very last section on the last lap. Very boring.
