Stuck on Adventurer Island with no flippers. Help?

I may have gotten ahead of myself. I took the adventurer's boat to the island and fixed 2/3 reactors but I can't do the 3rd because I did not get the flippers yet. I also can't figure out how to get back. I don't see the Adventurer with it's boat. Without spoiling (unless you have to) is there a way off? Did I screw myself?

You don't need the flippers. There is another path that takes you to the reactor.

Thank you. I'll see if I can figure it out. I thought I had been thorough but clearly I missed something (potentially obvious). I appreciate your response!
