Has anyone figured out the top puzzle in the temple?

I have no idea at all what to do. Even the ghosts hint isn't helpful.

I'm trying to figure it out too. The hint makes me think we have to cut the tree in some order, but I can't really tell either.

im pretty sure it has to do with the X around the place where you enter the snake cave. a ghost says ”where x marks the spot give darkness a shot”
the top puzzle ghost says ”the start is what it shows, the end where it grows”

i tried only hitting the cactus in the top left becuase the X was also top left
nothing happened though

That clue is about that X, but it has nothing to do with the temple puzzle. What do you normally do where X marks the spot?

And no, I haven't figured out the top or right temple puzzles yet. :(

So what I did for the right temple puzzle was get through the puzzle without geting hurt. I figured that out because the box had a Heart. FYI I tried dying at the top puzzle because it had a skull, didn't work.

Some boat as y'all here, I've solved basically everything EXCEPT the top temple puzzle.

Although, for some reason, the cactus has grown into a cross shape for me of five cactuses, and the top right tree has grown into a three tile tall one. Dunno why, maybe because I keep dying in the room over and over.

Same for me and everytime I leave the room and enter it again, the catuses have a different size.

Evil laugh happens regardless of where you die in that room, but yes it's only in that room.
