Does anyone knows why you can 112%ing Second Run and Mary Mode, but not the Normal Run?

No idea, I have 112% on Second Run but Normal and Mary are 110%. I don't know what I did differently.

One could assume it's because the game gives you an extra 2% for doing the mode.

I'd think that, but I have 110% on Mary Mode while this person has 112%. Something was different but who knows what.

After doing the research and documentation to figure it out, my grand conclusion is: don't think about it.

On twitter I have also seen a person that has a 115% on second run. I think it must have something to do wih small thing doable in-game. Like talk to the adventurer, open the mail-box and so..

Maybe it's about achievements somehow ? There's some secret achievement that you can actually miss in one run, so in order to have a 112% run, you need to replay the whole thing and complete that achievement on this file. I'm probably wrong, maybe it's some hidden secret that doesn't even show up in achievements.

I found the answer in another topic. You gain +2% every time you pick the broken sword, even if you have it once already in the normal game. Which means every time you defeat the final boss, you gain +2% and +1 item.

Pretty sure it's 2.5% every time you pick up the broken sword, yeah. Check your item count in the basement as it also increases.

I think this might be a bug.

No, that makes sense in a Second Run -- you get the Broken Sword twice, once at run start and again at final boss end.

Does that mean that acquiring the cursed sword in the first place counts for nothing?

I personally have 115% in Second Run and 112% in Mary Run, and I was wondering the same, that clears it up, thanks :D
