Game officially abandoned

Message on KS today from Sam Raski:

"As you may have guessed by now, development on Iron Tides has stopped. We underestimated the resources required to polish the game to the level we felt comfortable calling a full release. With declining momentum on steam and modest sales projections, going further into debt was not a viable strategy. We were forced to get jobs in order to make ends meet. For a while we continued working on Iron Tides in our spare time, but it soon became apparent that we could not properly complete the project at such a diminished capacity.

We apologize once again for making so many overly optimistic promises. If you have specific questions you can reach out to me directly at [e-mail]."

Cannot believe that the game in a so advanced state cannot be polished even working only on Saturdays....

Obviously, no source code release.

Sweet, how great for them, bravo. Now they can start refunding the $32,000+ of Kickstarter money they took from people to fund their unfinished project.

Although this game is abandoned, I purchased it in a sale and have had lots of enjoyment playing it. There seems to be enough content to make the game worthwhile, at least as far as I have seen in the time I have played.

Therefore, for me at least, IRON TIDES has proved good value!

Yes, the game is a good value if you were one of the hundreds of people who pledged their money to the Kickstarter campaign. Just like your deodorant is a good value if you don't consider how much animal testing went into making the product and how many innocents died from it.
