How to fill water tank

My ship has been lost to fire because there was no water in my hose. I tried the suck up machine over water but it didn't work for some reason. It picks up packages etc, . Where do I find water for my hose????? Please help. I'm tired of watching guides trying to find this. It must be obvious but I can't see it. thx.

Was your energy tank empty?
Afaik that's the only reason why it wouldn't work, unless you found a rare bug.

I honestly didn't think to look at that when the whole vehicle was burning. I don't see the connection but will take note and make sure it's filled before fire starts again. Thx. for the help. I had issues with the sparks too, but that was even before I got the tool to put them out which was not quite fair imo, thx. No matter what, I love this game.....

I found the fire hose does not work if the energy tank is empty. put some fuel in and the hose will work again.

Both the hose and the soldering torch require at least a small bit of energy left in the tank. After figuring this out, I NEVER let my okomotiv run out of energy if it was at all possible. Damage control stations that depend on power from the module I need to fix! Yikes!
