Unable to stream game on Discord

Hey!

So I was trying to stream this game to my friend on Discord to show it off a bit to him because I thought he'd enjoy this game and he wanted to see me play it, but for whatever reason Discord isn't picking up the game while it's running.

I went into the settings for Discord and tried to add it manually, but it didn't come up under the list of active programs Discord was picking up, despite me clearly seeing Star Ocean running on my taskbar and in the task manager.

Don't suppose any one knows what's going on here?

I don't know if this is connected, but whenever I minimise the game when it's on fullscreen, it always switches out of fullscreen automatically and I have to go into the settings to change it back.

I also have the Discord issue. I was only interested in the Discord Presence aspect, simply to show I'm playing the game, but even that doesn't show up.

As for the fullscreen thing, you can just set it manually using AutoHotkey. It becomes borderless fullscreen, but that shouldn't much of a difference. Check out this discussion[autohotkey.com] for examples, particularly the one by mazy should be good enough (you can remove the first if statement if it doesn't recognize it otherwise).

I'm a little late, but click on the "Screen" button and it'll appear there. That's how I've been streaming it.

Did we ever figure out why Discord can't detect the game, even if you try to manually add it to the Activity Status settings? I'm running into that problem right now.

I have a sneaking suspicion it's somehow related to the wonky fullscreen behavior, but I don't really know.

I haven't tried, but discord overlay causes a ♥♥♥♥ ton of issues for most games. Try turning overlay off and THEN try it.

never tried but when an app doesn't show on discord I just feed it through obs and send the preview screen to discord instead

So I was wondering this after getting the game and as it turns out I think it has to do with the games resolution. The game does not have a borderless window mode. I am not sure if that really has to do with it or not but I think the game itself is just like "gone" to apps like Discord. If someone actually has concrete info id like to know too.
