Low FPS issues
So, it's been a long while since I last played, and I wanted to pick it up again.

BUT, I'm noticing a HUGE issue.
The game won't run higher than 30FPS.
Which also means it will consistently dip below that.

Now, when I was playing last time, it was definitely running at 60FPS, near constantly with higher settings.
Now, it won't just hovers at 30.

Anyone have a fix? Otherwise, this is going to be unplayable for me. I can't deal with the low FPS.

There is no fix, the problem It's just your PC, try to reinstall the video card driver.
Or, check the resolution in the game option, maybe you have selected 3840 x 2160.

It's not necessarily just his PC, it will drop down to 14 fps for me at times too with a 1080 card and 1028x720 resolution. I've had cutscenes go down to single digit fps. Only an issue with this game for me.
It wasn't an issue a few months ago, though. My PC was able to handle it fine at higher settings previously. Now, I haven't actually played in at least 6 months.
But, it's a stark contrast in frame rate from then.
I even purposely cut my to 720 from super sampling at 2160, and all graphic settings to as low as possible and the framerate and the drops literally remained unchanged.
I did just uninstall and reinstall game, and to see if that might help, but otherwise, poop.
Well, it's running at 720p again, so that's something. Good enough for me. Long as I get a fairly steady 60. Thanks for the input, guys!

The game has some areas where you will have a huge fps drop in any case. Mostly in the purgatorium when you open the doors or when you drain all the water to go down one level. And then during the blindside, but for the rest of the game, except some rare cases, it can run at steady 60 fps. Of course it depends on the resolution and your gpu... and anyway, in the graphic options only changing the depth of field and the shadows buffer (?) (I don't remember the exact name) can give some difference... the rest you can put at max without any problem.
