Really?
Huh... Seems to work for others so far. Curious as to why it won't for yours now.
You getting any new errors that might help explain why? I found the memory issue for my fix through the errors that would pop up by going to try to start the game via the EXE instead of the steam launcher. If you aren't already doing that, could you try that?
Thanks for taking time to respond.
For me, there is no error. Nothing pops up. Just the status on library says "running"
but after about 5sec it just disappears.
It is very difficult to identify the problem since there is no infomation no nothing.
Alright, go into your game folder and try running it from there. I have to run for a couple hours soon, so let's try to do this quick. If I don't reply right away, i'm installing a new chimney. Shouldn't take terribly long.
When you try to run the game from the game folder, make sure you go to your task manager and exit out the possibly still running star ocean instance. It may not be doing anything, but that can cause issues.
Now that you did that, and have the exe about to be clicked, make sure to run it in admin mode.
When you do that, screenshot the error please and upload it.
Other than that, there is no error, no pop up, no nothing.
screenshot[drive.google.com] then this "Running" disappeards after 5 sec.
In there you will see star ocean running. End the task by rightclicking.
Then retry the things I said earlier again please.
As I said earlier, it only runs for about 5sec and it disappears. It is the same way in the task manager too.. it dies very quick.
Then I got nothing for ya dude... Sorry.
Yes I have done all the things you wrote.
Thanks anyways.
Fella in my thread found another thing that worked for him.
"i just found another bug, if you are using windows 7 the game will crash with the aska initialization error if you are NOT running an aero theme, so if you have aero disabled the game will not start at all"
This might not affect you, but maybe it might make you think of something that might.
Thanks for another info.
But it has been very hard to identify the problem, even the Square Enix could not find any since I do not see any errors on my screen.
Almost wonder if maybe something you have installed might be causing the issue for you. This happens from time to time I've noticed in some games. Borderlands 2 for instance doesn't like when I have Special K installed to help fix up Namco-Bandai games or Square Enix games.
So, maybe something like that is causing you issues. But to figure out which takes a lot of troubleshooting...
You might be better off to install windows fresh on a new harddrive and test it there to see if you can get it working at all. If not, even with all fixes taken into account after doing the reinstall, then maybe it's just your pc somehow. I say your pc, because ultimately as much as it sucks, that really is the case in some rare instances.
But it's rare. But if you do those things and still don't have it working, then maybe you can tell SE at least. Then maybe they can fix it for you and others.
Good luck.
AMD Ryzen 5 1600x

AMD Radeon RX480 8 GB. (17.12.1 Drivers)
Windows 10 Pro x64
Check out my thread. If there isn't a fix there for ya, check out other threads. If nothing works for you... Well... good luck.
The game does work though. Once you get it working that is.
Btw I put my sound quality on 16-bit 44.100 hz (CD/DVD Quality I think it says) .and the game starts up just fine.
