I never played gunforce 2 so I have no comment on that, the only real meta slug influence I see in this game is the vehicle use.
Almost everything of this game is taken from Contra Hard corps. Graphics style, the gameplay, the weapon system etc... For Geo Storm/Gunforce influence, you should check gameplay video on youtube or play it by yourself on MAME to see what i mean.. Gunforce 2 was one of the last (if not the last) game made by IREM on arcade in 1994, you can also use vehicles like this as you can see with Blazing Chrome, even the graphics design make me think at Gunforce 2 (Geo Storm in Japanese), that game was develloped by people who founded Nazca after and did the Metal slug series, Geo Storm/Gunforce 2 is often considered as the prequel of Metal Slug series, the father of Metal Slug, created by Irem.
You'll see where Blazing Chrome take a big part of its inspiration ! aside of Contra Hard corps ! haha ! you're welcome ! very good game Blazing Chrome ! i like it, bring a lot of memories to me that kind of games !
