Report a translation problem
we checked the problem and didn't know why it occurs.
On 99 out of 100 Windows 10 or 11 pcs, it runs without any problems.
Here are the only who reported this problem next of one who has written to us.
But we also find a PC, where the problem occurs too, BUT we didn't know why.
I think it has something to do with a security option from Windows or maybe a graphiccard driver (I found this information on the internet). On the PC here, where the problem occur, it runs in the past too, I think until approx. end of 2022.
Strange thing is, that in our tests, all Windows versions are the same (build numbers), where it runs and the one where we see the two title screens and then come back to the Windows desktop.
Also all security settings are the same.
We will go on to check why it occurs and hopefully find the reason soon and will have a workaround.
Maybe it has something to do with a Windows update or a setting. We compare most of the security-settings and they are all the same.
The problem with coming back to the desktop after the two splash-screens occurs (in our current knowing), if you use the game with Intel Ice Lake-CPUs 10. gen or newer. And it occurs since this driver might be updated a few months ago. It’s a bug in OpenSSL 1.2. Any game which uses this version will have issues.
There are a lot of other games, which use the same engine, we've used and who are having the same problem.
We will check, if an update can be provided. In the meanwhile, there's a workaround, which works for us (of course didn't guarantee, that it also works at all computers and we are not liable for any damage on Windows 10 or Windows 11):
Step 1. Open "Control Panel" by searching for it in Windows search bar, by pressing the Windows button or key.
Step 2. Go to "System & Security"
Step 3. Go to "System"
Step 3. Press "Advanced system settings"
Step 4. Press "Environmental Variables"
Step 5. Create a new "System Variable" (NOT USER VARIABLE)
Step 6. Enter the following into the Variable name box: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Step 7. Enter the following into the Variable value box: ~0x20000000
Step 8. Now press OK.
Please try starting the game again, you may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect.
If you are unsure, please check the internet with the keywords: “Intel Ice Lake CPU Crash Workaround”, there are a lot of pictured descriptions of the steps above.
I did what you said, and it still doesnt work.
