You can also try to experiment with guns, considering points what I already said, or wait for more replies.
You might want to check out GoI discord, I really don't understand why 99% of this game community are there.
A)You normally don't need anything beyond 1 Heavy Flak MK2. Two flaks are overkill. Not to mention flaks are not that efficient at close range. I highly suggesting swapping that one out with a different heavy gun.The Immortal Gaze MK1 is a good weapon break armors at long range, if you want to snipe down range. If you don't have it unlocked, the Minotaur with heavy clip is as close as you will get regarding heavy guns good against armour at long range. Just be warned that sniping with a heavy flak is quite difficult.
B) As mentioned, the mercury on the side is an odd choice. And the gas mortars are indeed great. If you don't have the gas mortars, gatlings work in a pinch. If loaded with lesmok ammo, you can get somewhere at 600-700m range. Hades is a good alternative if you have more experienced crew that can aim the things.
C)The MK1 Seraph Tempest missiles are decent at doing damage to enemy weapons and is an easy gun to use. The MK2 variant is better at doing balloon and some hull damage. For the top deck you most likely would want some support weapons, and both variants of the tempest missiles work. Other alternatives include the previously mentioned gas mortars for more anti armour damage and banshees for better close range balloon damage. It all depends on what is causing the biggest issues for you.
In short for long range, Heavy Flak MK2, Immortal Gaze railgun/Minotaur Heavy Cannon, 2 Gas mortars/gatlings/hades on the sides and 2 tempests/gas mortars/banshees on the top deck.
While on close range:
A)swap the heavy guns out with Detonators. If you don't have those, use hwachas. Detonators break basically anything with proper usage and hwachas break guns but are also decent against hull. You can use a flak, but only if your gunner knows how to use lochnagar.
B)Light flaks on the side. While those guns are also more of a mid ranged gun, you can't put mortars on the sides of a Crusader and have them aim directly forwards. Light flaks can, however. Load them with greased and so long as you aren't right next to your target, it should be fine.
C)Gatlings on top deck. Highly effective against armour.
In short for up close, 2 hwachas/detonators, 2 light flaks on the sides, 2 gatlings on the top deck.
And to explain why everyone's in discord, it's a convenience thing. Apologies for the long post, but it's hard to explain details in short.
