I think it's a stylistic choice, not an oversight. Neither one does anything without the other, so making one a prerequisite for the other would still require you to learn a skill that does nothing on its own first.

That's an odd requirement not to state on either one of the skills involved, especially since they're not prerequisites of each other.

Yeah the fact that Face the Sky is in a different section of the tree is a bit weird.

Suggestion: Have Master techniques require one point in Face the Sky, so you know.

Except that Face the Sky is *also* useless if you haven't learned a Master Technique, so that doesn't make much sense either. I think the tree is fine as is, the description, just needs to be updated.

I think it does make sense, the tree doesn't need to be moved, it's fine as it is. Simply to get one point in any master technique you need a point in Face the Sky first. Yes, the skill by itself does nothing, but that's simply how the mechanic works. I'm not proposing to change the Ronin trees, they are fine as is. And yes, the description should be clearer, I think.
