No NES ROM included?

I got this because I expected it to include the ROM so I can play it more comfortably from my raspberry connected to the TV.

Most NES games on Steam in the same style, like Micro Mages or Lizard, include the ROM. Even Sega Classic collection includes the ROMs.

I saw there was a discussion in the prequel about this ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/538220 ) and the developers replied, with interest in providing it but never really did. Which is surprising considering it should be so easy to just provide the file, even if they didn't change anything else and still included the unity port.

Both Micro Mages and the Lizard game actually do something like this, the ROM are included as a separate extra even though it's not needed for the Windows executable. In the case of Lizard it's even a separate free DLC:

If you have questions on doing this, I'm pretty sure Brad Smith would help since he's a pretty cool guy.

It makes no sense to not provide the ROM, it's no protection against piracy to do it, since you can still find the Unity port game pirated out there. Personally believe the best way to avoid people pirating your game is by making it easier for them to buy it legally.

It's sad because with no ROM available I don't have much of an interest on playing this and I might end up refunding it.

I agree. it is a shame. However, i think you can purchase the game on real nes hardware if you look online.

To me, that's what usually sets such a game apart from all other similar titles.
Hoping it gets added later on, or at least publish it in a store such as Itchio if what the dev says about Steam not allowing including a rom is true, although I'm not really sure if this will ever happen, considering how the other game's thread went.

Wow! That's just a no go for me, I want the ROM for play the game in my favourite nes emu or even on MisTer FPGA or real hardware putting the ROM in a flashcart, real mistake, not gonna buy it like that.

Correct. We do not release the ROM. It is available on NES cartridge, Famicom cartridge (with Japanese translation), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Forgot I was subscribed to this thread. Since it seems the dev isn't willing to make the ROM accessible, guess I can safely unsubscribe and forget this game exists.
