McOsu
My beatmaps won't load
I did absolutely everything the "Play McOsu without downloading Osu!" guide told me to do. I made a folder for my songs, put in the file destination for the Osu!folder option, extracted the zip of the beatmap I wanted to play into another folder inside the songs folder, and nothing happened. Can someone please tell me what went wrong? Excuse my stupidity.

Sorry, but it still won't work. I checked that the beatmap wasn't taiko, beatmania, or fruit catch exclusive and pressed F5 everytime I went to my songs.

1) Download this beatmap here: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/199335#osu/474549
2) Make an exact copy of EVERYTHING you see in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/5C8LN22
3) Launch the debug exe manually and check the log: /<Steam>/steamapps/common/McOsu/McEngine_Debug.exe
4) Maybe McOsu is not allowed to read your osu! files. Try launching as Administrator.

What did you set your osu!folder textbox to?

This is wrong: C:/MyCustomOsuFolder/Songs/
This is correct: C:/MyCustomOsuFolder/

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Generally it's very much recommended to use osu! for beatmap management, it will also dramatically speed up the loading process the more beatmaps you have.

I recommend just using osu because some broken maps automatically get repaired if you load them in osu
