McOsu
input lag issues
so in oss i generally have stable ~2ms of input lag, however in mcosu it's 4ms in menu and as more sliders appear in gameplay the more ms I have accordingly

it just really ruins the whole experience, so I'd like to know if someone has encountered such issue before and what's more, if there's a way to fix it

i don't think specs matter in that case, but here they are anyway:
1.7Ghz Intel Core i3 processor
2GB Nvidia 820M

thanks in advance an have a good time clicking circles to the beat

4ms? That's better than most monitors.

besides your specs are pretty crappy, what do you expect? A VR game to run as smooth as the original? This is a gimmick anyways, cant really think of any someone serious osu player playing this ^^ also 4ms is pretty bad for osu yeah. Usually most osu players go for 1000+ fps to drop below 1

also the thing is that even if I have ~900fps the input lag is still there ;/

maybe it's win10 that does all the crap?
first of all, the ms you see below your fps has nothing to do with input lag from devices. it shows how long each frame is drawn on screen in milliseconds, which is why having 1000 fps will put it at 1 ms. 900fps should put it at about ~1.11 ms.

have you actually turned on unlimited fps? make sure mcosu is running on your 820m and not your intel graphics. mcosu also has some noticeable input lag compared to osu! too and I haven't seen a fix for it yet.

I get around 70-80 fps on mcosu and around 400-500 on osu :/
I also had that problem too. I would be getting very low fps on mcosu, but run 2k+ on mcosu. Sorry, I don't have a solution because the problem fixed itself for me.

the Steam Overlay could cause input lag and lower framerates, have you tried disabling it in the right-click properties for McOsu in the library? (in general it's not as optimized as osu!, so it will run a tiny bit slower)

i don't think the steam overlay is the 'cause of issue, as i also experienced this before it was released on steam. i'm guessing osu! just runs better.

i disabled the overlay and the increasing input lag is still there, HOWEVER it is a little bit lighter right now

any other recommendations? and ye, I have unlimited fps on, if it means something

I'm assuming you have vsync disabled (never enable it, just adds massive input lag for the tiny benefit of no screen-tearing).

If you are not playing fullscreen, then you will get extra input lag from the window compositor (aka Aero on Windows 7, desktop composition), because Windows forces vsync on all windows. On Windows 10 you can no longer disable desktop composition (That's what letterboxing is for, so you can have a fullscreen surface but with a smaller game resolution or "virtual" window inside)
