Swapping music files (?)

I'd love to swap the music files of this game but I have no real idea on how I'd do that. It's not that I don't like the music, rather that I just want to put in different music for my experience. Does anyone know if it's possible? I've found 'music.dat' and 'music-dlc1.dat' in my files. I attempted to extract/translate them in Notepad, and the best I could describe is moon runes, like I swear there was not alphabetical letter there anywhere. If anyone knows a way to be able to change the music files, I'd be greatly appreciative to know.

This can be done (and more) with the game's official modding tools, but all players would need it installed if you were to play online.

There is an alternative with the unofficial modpacker, which will allow you to play online normally. However it can be more difficult to work with in some aspects.
