Anime portraits
Hello everyone.

I am interested in making a portrait mod for this game, and with the release of Modpacker, this seems like it's possible.

This is an example of anime Mercia.

If there is anybody interested in this please let me know in this thread. Note however this thread is not for bashing the original portraits, so please refrain from that and let's just sit around and decide how to make a custom uguu version of the game instead.

Here are some more quick examples of the kind of anime we can achieve.

Interesting. Perhaps consider trying to get them as close to the appearances from the intro video.

And yea I'd be interested I suppose. Dunno why crunchy went WinnieThePoohPosting tho.

I can't really see any difference in the mercia pictures and the sigrid one looks like you just removed her nose and replaced it with a '>'

feels bad man. When "anime" style now means removing detail from character art and lightning everything. Gone a long way down since the 80s and 90s

This doesn't look good at all in my opinion. You're just removing the nose and lighting the skin, all the while keeping everything else the same. This leads to an incoherent style that simply denotes a lack of artistic taste and drawing skills. Such a mod would however be interesting if the portraits were completely remade with a completely different style - but the regular portraits in the base games are already very well made, so the bar is pretty high and it certainly isn't something we NEED either.

are you blind, it just removed the uneeded redness which improves the faces greatly.

whatever it is unneeded or not is purely subjective, but changing the original art is disrespectful to the artist and far from what I would call anime. It is better to just draw a new set of portraits.

It's a mod, not a demand. Nothing disrespectful about it unlike the artist himself says so

Locking at this point due to thread necromancy.
