Combat dmg isnt inconsistence. every unit can crit based on a requirement. like the dragon crits if the target stays on a street. you need to use your brain since you can lose if you have your commander on a wrong field.
Thx!
Aside from the so-called "Critical Hit" mechanic (which isn't random chance, just "increased damage when condition is met"), the game calculates correctly with a 100 HP basis but only shows a limited range of numbers. Anything between 86 and 95 HP will be displayed as 9, for example, which explains the perceived inconsistencies. That's pretty much the major reason why Sedge's Groove deals 35% damage, since it means killing a unit with 3 "Diplay HP" is guaranteed to happen.
Thanks for that! I did find out how it works in another thread. :D It shows the damage average, not the damage minimum like in AW.
OOOH yeah. This game is VERY much worth it. It's one of the best strategy games I've played in a long while, and the create-a-campaign with cutscenes and online co-op maps is amazing. It's just amazing in general.
It's not perfect, due to a few aspects that can and will probably be updated and improved upon at some point, but it's pretty damn close to being perfect. It's the modern Advance Wars we needed but never had.
