Online game with friends and bots?

I've heard word that Co-op vs AI is not a thing, I really need confirmation on this. It's what I loved most in Advance Wars local play -- Friends beating a strong AI together.

It has to, it says there is co-op. Anyone who has actually tried it please confirm! I'd love to 2v2 ai with a friend :)

From what I've seen on the Multiplayer lobbies, there is no option to place AI controlled players. I was looking forward to 2v2ing AI with friends as well, but it's starting to look like that's not really an option, unfortunately. Hopefully they patch it in sometime soon, I picked up the game expecting it, I loved 2v2ing AI in Advance Wars, seems odd that it's spiritual successor doesn't have it.

There are Coop vs AI. You have to download scenario maps or create them yourself. My friend and I played a couple matches vs AI.

There is 2v2 vs AI, you need to go online and download maps that state 2p, then check to see if its vs each other or vs ai (usually they have a description saying which)
