Workaround for the start up issues

Hello until the dev fix it here is a workaround for the start up issue (game doesnt start at all)

Keep in mind im not related to Chuckfish or/and Steam. If you rude or insulting i wont help.

1. For Win 7 start up issue without any message:

Open the library tab in steam click on Wargroove (right click) go to properties/ local files / search local files

A new window will pop up with the files from Wargroove open the folder Win64_bin right click on the wargroove64.exe and run compabile modus. Click on the first option and click further use now the Windows Server 2008 (services Pack 1) and the game will run again.


2. Win 10 start up issue game freeze (solution provided by 111a):

Install the following programm will solve the issue:

3. Error with this message: https://imgur.com/y5Pk2df

Go to the following folder
C:\Users\(pc name)\AppData\Roaming\Chucklefish/wargroove

The folder are hidden sometimes so make sure you can see hidden folder as well.

Deleted the entire Folder (WARNING you savefiles will be lost!)
At the moment there is "only" fix for that. The dev are working on it. It is a crude solution but you savefiles are damage and i cant repair them.

You also need to disable Steam cloud or it will redownload the corrupt savefiles.



You didnt find you solution here? Please sent a reply in this topic and provide some basic information about the error message or crash and some specs so i can help.

Seem like a runtime error try to launch the game in openGL modus maybe that can solve it.

I got the same error, but I can run the game with that (OpenGL) option.

When I starts the game, the Windows 7 bar is in front of the game when the game is in fullscreen. Could you fix that?

I have ppp 150% to get bigger fonts and read the text of Windows better.

Can I have some more info, please?

1. Did the game ever run for you?
2. What's your Operating System?
3. What's your video card?
4. What is your Windows User name? (i.e. the name of the folder containing your "Desktop" and "Downloads" directories, typically located in "c:\Users". For example, mine is "c:\Users\amz", so "amz" is my Windows user name)

Try running the game with --fullscreen. That puts the game in exclusive fullscreen mode. This mode is experimental and technically unsupported. It might get saved to the game settings, if so, you can undo it by using --borderless.

Hi, when a file is not found, its proberbly the best to reinstall or install the latest redistributable.

Anway, releasing this game and its not working on win7 is a no go.

I did already. I uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled. I still got the same error. I even verified integrity files and still can't run the game.

You missunderstand the issue. You have a missing windows .dll file that why the game doesnt run. You need to reinstall the C++ Visual. It is not a game issue it is a issue with windows himself.

For better understanding: The game run on a program language in this case on C++. Sometimes it happend to that file it could be deleted by accident (from a another programm for example) or it is damage. Who have win10 and game doesnt start!
Personally I have european Windows 10 N-version (without media player and etc).

I have idea what causing it however you wont like it:

Go to the following folder
C:\Users\(pc name)\AppData\Roaming\Chucklefish/wargroove

The folder are hidden sometimes so make sure you can see hidden folder as well.

Remove the entire folder into a new folder and try to launch the game if it is working im afraid that the crash damage you save files and that why you cant play anymore. Bad luck that the game saved in that second when the system crashed. You can start a new game and play again without any issue but you save files are damage and i cant repair them.

Before you ask why the deinstalling didnt work? Well, steam dont deleted save files if there are the souces of the corruption reinstalling the game wont change anything at all.

Master_of_cemetery: if you want help please give some information about you issue. A report or a error message and you system spec would be nice.

I've already tried deleting both my Appdata files and my steam files.
