Worth it for Singleplayer/campaign?
If I didnt plan to do multi, does the campaign offer enough longevity/challenge to buy?
Thanks!

the campaign is a little short but there's arcade and puzzle modes to keep you going, and you can try to unlock the secret commander

I don't even play multiplayer. Single player modes and the map creator tools are worth it.

Two words: Custom Maps

Singleplayer is ... okay I guess. Campaign is pretty bad honestly (story is meh, mission design ranges from uninspired to unfair), Arcade Mode is... okay-ish, I guess. Surely could be better. Biggest strike against the game: The AI is pretty bad, definitely worse than the Advance Wars AI.

No, it doesn't worth now.
There are many negative reviews.
Just read it and you'd know.
Many fans of Advance War like me
are disappointed.
Chuckle Fish released a game officially
but seemed still in EA.
Now I don't hope they change system
massively (although they should) but
hope they fix multiplayer mode at least.

To be fair, if the main campaign story doesn't surprise very much, the caesarVsBandits side missions cutscenes and dialogues make me smile each time.

Yes, it has challenges. In my opinion, as an average player you could sink 30 hours for the main campaign, plus a couple quickplay online, plus a couples or 2 arcades and puzzles. 40 hours if you want the "real" ending.

As a longtime fan of AW I like this game so far.

The campaign can last you as long as 30 hours. Some of the missions can be a little irritating though. It's challenging enough on its own, but the option to make it harder does exist.

Buying it for singleplayer only isn't really a good deal, in my opinion. Outside of the campaign, there are a limited number of tactics puzzles and the Arcade, which is a series of versus AI matches on mirrored maps using the same commander for the player. Unless you double the opponent's income (hard difficulty), there isn't much fun to be had in Arcade, as a human player will always beat an AI unless you're just miserable at the game.

Yes if you factor in custom maps from players. That's endless replayability right there. The only problem is whether or not the AI will be enough of a challenge for you though.

A lot of the challenge in the campaign comes from the odds being stacked against you more than AI being smart. If you're a bad tactician and this is your first real strategy game, like for me, then you'll probably find challenge here, but perhaps too much of it to get through some missions at all on normal or higher difficulty. It will take you a few days though if you play through all of the side missions and try to get good ranks before moving on.

There's also arcade mode and puzzles, which can both offer extended game time on their own.

That being said, as mentioned by others, players are capable of making their own campaigns(though not all of the same tools are available to them). And not only that, but according to Chucklefish some degree of modding support is planned, so there will effectively be endless game, even if you avoid multiplayer, you just need to wait for it to get here.
