Unlock everything cheat

I know this may make me look like a spoiled child and bring a bunch of "git gud" comments, but as someone who just wants to enjoy everything the game has to offer and doesn't have the time or skills to really complete every challenge the game has, I wish there was an unlock everything cheat code like some old games used to have. I think this would be great since that way, those who lack the strategy skills and want to play as every character can just unlock everything right out of the beginning. I understand achievements won't be affected. I don't care about achievements anyway.

You could just lower difficulty and power through all the missions? Of course, you won't get achievements if you lower difficulty.

Lowering the difficulty is probably the best idea, as I don't know of any cheat codes.

I do hope someone will release such cheat in the future. I would hate to come back to the game after a couple years and having to redo campaign in order to play other modes.

This is a tactics game. You don't need to aim, have good reflexes, time combos, or even outthink another human being. There is literally no true skill involved.

More than that, it gives you difficulty sliders so if you can't figure out how to not throw your units away pointlessly every fight you can still progress and unlock new commanders for arcade by playing on easy mode.

Not that I can understand why you care about these unlocks anyway, arcade mode will be just as challenging as the regular game is and then you'll be back here asking for another cheat to beat the game for you too.

In Advance Wars games, I remember using a "all unlocks" savefile on the GBA emulator, just to save me the pain to redo the tutorial and grind to unlock things including maps: I already played the game long ago, and at the moment, I just wanted to play a couple maps I liked for fun.

I guess you could do the same here: ask a player who has finished the game for the content of his AppData\Roaming\Chucklefish\Wargroove folder, and copy it on your own hard drive. (disable steam cloud first)

I've finished the main campaign. You can't turn down the difficulty, it locks you out of 3 stars. There are unlocks tied to stars besides the gallery. You need every single star to get everything in the game. That means grinding out Arcade, Puzzle and Campaign missions.

I agree with OP, an unlock everything would be really nice especially since the unlocks affect multiplayer and can be used online.

I don't really blame you tbh. The scenarios are stupidly hard and you can't save scum, some of the scenarios have generals who aren't suited to those scenarios. The game is full of em. Some ♥♥♥♥♥ keep saying dude just lower the difficulty as if this was a valid excuse for the poor scenario creation.

I REALLY wanted to like this game but MAN the missions are such a chore.

Update: The first person to 100% the game has graciously released their save file in the official Wargroove Discord, specifically the #spoilers channel. Search "100% savefile" to find it. The file will be named "playerProgress".

OP (and anyone else who wants to use it), you can use that to unlock everything by putting the file in your %AppData%\Chucklefish\Wargroove\save folder and overwriting the current one.

While you don't have to by any means, I highly recommend you play through the main campaign, epilogue and as much of arcade/puzzle as you wish once first before using it as it will give you every level at S Rank with 3 stars, every arcade difficulty for every character completed and puzzle in puzzle mode completed. There will be obvious spoilers if you haven't played the campaign.

You can still replay them of course but it may be more difficult to keep track of what you've done if everything has been done.

You can find a link to the Discord on the Wargroove website and Subreddit. You should also make sure to thank them if you use it.

Cheating in a singleplayer game is fine, hopefully you'll find what you're looking for
but cheating to get advantage in an online game of any kind is bad.
so as long as you're doing the former then its fine you're not hurting anyone at all and you should ignore anyone in this thread telling you otherwise
