co-op - hot seat
I'm curious on any information regarding the co-op play. Is it part of the story/campaign? How is it handled on PC for hot-seat? Curious if it is worth getting to play it with my kid.

Thanks

The campaign is single-player only, but you can do local skirmishes using 2v1 maps with two human players against a bot, or 2v2 against two bots.
Not sure if people will be able to make custom co-op campaigns, but from what little I've seen the campaign and scenario editors allow a lot of freedom, so it might be possible.

No Coop isn't Part of the original Campaign but you can always play the Maps in the Lokal Multiplayer Folder (there you can set up Teams like you wish). Playing it with your Kids....well i don't know how old your Kids are but in Terms of Blood and Violence you should be fine (Friendly graphical Design and so on).

CUSTOM MAPS ONLY.

There is co-op, but there is no co-op official content. You turn it on in a custom map you make.

Plenty of custom maps for it, so go check one out. They're great.

To clarify, this is only a problem in online play. While online you can't set bots, so playing against AI requires you to download a specifically made co-op scenario map with preset AI players. If you're playing locally, you can use any of the standard 2v1 or 2v2 maps and just set some players to bots for co-op.
