How does this compare to the later-released Dreamcast version?

I had Silver for the Dreamcast, and it played pretty well on a controller, does it play better with a mouse? I realize this is the original version, but I dunno if it's the videos I've seen, it appears to be a visual downgrade from the Dreamcast version, although I guess that one could just have the camera zoomed in way more.

This is a barely-remembered (but never forgotten) title I played for a few months a long time ago, and I often get it mixed up with another game I *think* was on the Dreamcast? I vaguely remember something about that other title having like 99-100 characters on-screen, but can't for the life of me recall the name, anyone remember that?

It plays very good with a mouse, the story elements and the combat have a nice ways of giving the game a PC feeling.
Maybe you are just remembering the game looking better:P i played it about 15 years ago and it looks a little old but the artwork is truly unique and beautiful

Dude, you play it with 1 button from the keyboard and that's it. Hold control to attack with the left mouse button and other than that it's just right mouse button to open up the menu, that's it.

Using a controller would actually make it more complicated and (probably) harder.
